Podcast: The Gatekeepers (BBC Radio 4)
A good look at how social media companies – mainly Facebook and Twitter – fail to properly police the content that is posted on their sites. The reasons and challenges are many and not as obvious as you may originally think.
Nothing particularly new if you pay any kind of attention to the subject but well made and sometimes emotionally charged.
Some previous BBC podcasts have been expanded into good books, such as The Missing Cryptoqueen and The Lazarus Heist but I don’t think there is much more to say about this subject that isn’t covered here or, no doubt, in many other books.
