Mini review: Shogun (2024 TV adaptation – Disney+)
I read the book Shogun many years ago and thought it was excellent – I still think it is one of the best books I have ever read so I’m really pleased that it has been adapted for TV. It seemed to me that Clavell’s novels have been overlooked in recent years.
I loved the series – the casting is very good, the sets and styling look exquisite and I like the fact that they took a chance on having the majority of the dialogue in Japanese.
If you want more I would recommend reading Tai-Pan and then the magnificent Noble House.
