Mini review: “A Foreign Country” by Charles Cumming

I picked this up because it has gotten good reviews and won some prizes.  I  was a bit hesitant as I had a bit of an adverse reaction to his previous book, but thought this one worth checking out.  This time I’m avoiding the audiobook version as the reader is the same as before and I think it was the reading of the previous book that was the problem.

This is a very good thriller.  Short, punchy chapters make you want to read on.  It is well paced and the author is good at drip-feeding information so that twists when they come in the plot deliver the necessary hit.

It is very contemporary and it is good to have an unconventional adversary.

Definitely worth picking up if you want a decent summer read…
