Searching for the missing online

Back in August I wrote about a story dealing with the disappearance of Jim Gray and the way the online community was helping to find him – one of the saddest stories I’ve read in a long time. They never found him. Then in September the adventurer Steve Fossett disappeared and I thought it strange that the same thing (more or less) happened again.

Once more the online community jumped to help, but there is still no trace.

Now the question has been asked if the system used is worth the effort. The article is a good follow-on piece, and worth a read.
